Greetings from Fremont, Center of the Universe,

The Fremont Tour, a street theater begins its fourth season this year. Our program promotes public art. During each performance we participate in a Fremont ART ATTACK, fire the 47′ Fremont Rocket and meet the Fremont Troll’s cousin.

Since we involve strangers in the street, even the tour guides don’t know exactly what will happen. OUR MISSION IS TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO FIND THEIR PLAYFULNESS THROUGH ART AND HISTORY.  And that is what
happens!

SONY DSCYou are invited to join us on Sunday, June 1st at 4 PM. There will be a playful group of our local hospitality industry – hotel concierges and owners of local B&Bs.

We begin at Solstice Plaza (701 N. 34th St). Our program takes 90 minutes. Afterwards you are welcome to join us at our partner, Ponti Seafood Grill, for free appetizers and Happy Hour drinks where you can sit and watch the boats sail through the Fremont Draw Bridge. This is a playful way to spend a Sunday afternoon and it is something you can only do in the “Center of the Universe.”

Please let us know if you can come and play so we can plan accordingly – [email protected].

The weather threatens to be agreeable, sounds like a fine Sunday afternoon.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
