GiveBIG for Wallingford – May 6th

Victoria Dzenis Victoria Dzenis May 5, 2014 Comments are off

Tuesday, May 6th is the fourth annual GiveBIG event, a 24-hour on-line charitable giving event hosted by the Seattle Foundation.  Donations will support many nonprofits to make our communities greater, fight social injustices, and give those in need a helping hand.

This is our opportunity to step up and make a difference – to help the causes, communities, and people we care about.  Like, for example, two important nonprofits in Wallingford’s own backyard, both neighborhood-based and primarily serving our local community.

WCSC Logo.w.Name.Maiandra.GreenWith your support, FamilyWorks and Wallingford Community Senior Center have been serving Wallingford and beyond by supplying needed resources, providing safe spaces, and empowering individuals. A gift on May 6th will help continue this work in our neighborhood community.

Click the links below to learn more about our neighbors, and to make your GiveBIG donations on May 6th.

Wallingford Community Senior Center – Building community across generations.  Fostering healthy, positive, safe aging.

FamilyWorks Food Bank & Resource CenterFW Logo PMS Purple C  – Connecting individuals and families to food and family support on their path to resilience.

This is a call for all of us to participate on that day – in the spirit of creating a stronger, healthier, more vibrant community for everyone.  So, act locally for Wallingford! The event runs midnight to midnight.  Gifts large and small matter, and will get a boost from a ‘stretch pool’ funded by The Seattle Foundation and key GiveBIG sponsors.  So your gift will go a little further!

Thank You for Giving Big, Wallingford!

[stone-soup-theatre-logoEd Note: Stone Soup Theatre, Wallingford’s own community theater, and the only Seattle theater focusing on the one act play, is participating as well. In addition to producing plays, Stone Soup provides youth arts education at after-school programs, school assemblies, Summer Camps and the Stone Soup Youth Conservatory.]
