Searched long and far for the original source of this, to no avail. But it amused me.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I think “Uptight Aging Hippies in Yoga Pants” fits Wallingford just perfect.

I’d actually never lived around hippies, especially not old ones, until we moved to Wallingford. Uptight is the most accurate word to describe them. I suspect it’s due to decades of having an activist mentality. They end up adopting that mentality towards seemingly everything. They get worked up over even the minutiae of daily life if it doesn’t match their world view 100%. Hell hath no fury like a hippie scorned.

Hi E30 Memorial and edwins. Your comments fit perfectly into this forum: Judgemental :-). At least the creator of the map recognized that fact!! Living in a city such as Seattle requires a lot of tolerance of so many different viewpoints, lifestyles, backgrounds, cultures and good people and bad people. This is our neighborhood forum – anyone can comment on anything I think, so I respect your right to do so but this is pretty mean.

I doubt edwins is so judgmental really, it’s just his way of getting back at some neighbors where they can’t see him doing it.

In the original (thank you for the link, NotinCT), we have been renamed “Wallingfood”. Love the map! Thank you, Jordan!
