The folks at The Octopus Bar asked us to pass along this invite to the 1st Annual Wallingford Pride Kick-Off, tomorrow, Wednesday June 25th starting at 9 pm:

Wednesday June 25th – All LGBT NIGHT 9:00pm on and in collaboration with Jameson Irish Whiskey!

Celebrate a GAY OL’ EVENING with us hosted by the lovely Kristie Champagne, with the fabulously talented impersonators of Le Faux on Broadyway! Come witness Cher (Jaxen Brown), Nicki Minaj (Kaleena Markos), Adele, & Taylor Swift (Minerva Markos) while they shake their asses around the Octopus in celebration of Seattle Gay Pride!

Bar hop this block party by visiting Changes in Wallingford and Black Nails Production, for an evening of Karaoke hosted by Marcus! Currently in their 25th Year of Prideful Gay bar Business!

Then sneak over to The Iron Bull, your straight friends’ favorite sports bar. Trivia From 9 PM – 10 PM, then showcasing an evening of Cher Movies 10PM – close.

We appreciate The Iron Bull stretching towards the gay with a bit of Cher. It’s the thought that counts.

This weekend, Changes (which at 25 is one of the oldest gay bars in Seattle) will be kicking into high gear for Gay Pride Weekend:

Join us Pride Weekend ! Do your best Drag Artistry as Cher and you could take the title of the Best Cher and be given a nice cash prize on Friday the 27th of June.

Pride Saturday is Decade of the 70’s & a Decadent Disco Contest where you could win a cash prize for the most authentic look of Disco on the 28th of June.

Sunday the29th is Pride Karaoke with Black Nails Productions, what is your favourite song of the past 40 years? We also have your resident Drag Artist Iona & Dj Ericket in the house entertaining a mixing it up.

Jordan

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
