Shooting at I-5 / 45th

Jordan Jordan June 16, 2014 4 Comments

I-5 southbound has been shutdown following a shooting involving a Washington State Trooper. King 5 reports:

While few details are available, Washington State Patrol Trooper Chris Webb tweeted that a trooper was responding to a car fire. After arriving, he quickly was involved in a shooting with a subject.

The trooper called for backup after shots were fired. The trooper was not injured in the shooting.

Seattle Fire says one man in his 20s has been transported to Harborview Medical Center with gunshot wounds.

I’m out of town at the moment with limited Internet, so I won’t be able to follow-up with this story. If you have additional details to share with the neighbors, please post them to the comments.

Weird story. I heard sirens coming up Latona about 7pm tonight. Helicopters arrived about half hour later. They’re gone now.

freeway still closed as far as I can tell from looking at the Ship Canal Bridge from my window. The closure is up at 1st Av/Ngate Way (exit 173)

Closed 15 minutes ago as I crossed the ship canal bridge northbound. Dumbass rubberneckers jamming northbound traffic.
