Turtle (re)Painting

bubbles-intersectionThe folks over by Interlake and 41st are getting their paint on next weekend, going do do the turtle dance!

Charlie writes:

Come help repaint Wallingford’s Bubbles the Turtle on Sunday, July 20! Bubbles is the street mural at N 41st St and Interlake Ave N, and we’re holding the annual painting party around 9 am through early afternoon.

Anyone in the area is welcome to help with the painting, including kids (with parents)! Paint, supplies, and refreshments will be provided, though donations to cover the cost are welcome through our Fundly page. It’s always a great neighborhood party, and we hope to see you there!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    Any plans to update the ladybug? It’s so faded it’s almost unrecognizeable. 🙁
