Living Room Conversation with Seattle Police

Jordan Jordan August 13, 2014 4 Comments

Blue_FoundationIf you’re like the many folks I talked to at Seattle Night Out, and the many people who have been posting to the Wallyhood Forums, that there seems to be an uptick in petty crime (car prowl, front porch package theft, bicycles disappearing from garages, etc.), then you may want to pop in to the South Walingford Living Conversation with the SPD North Precinct:
When: August 14, 2014
Time: 7 – 9PM
Where: 2110 N Pacific St., 98103
Sgt. Manning of the North Precinct will be presenting and has invited an officer of the Harbor Patrol Unit to join us as well. Sgt. Manning will be bringing pizza and soft drinks.
You don’t need to live in South Wallingford to attend, but there will be another one in North Wallingford in September for those unable to attend this one (date still TBD).
I won’t be able to attend, so I’d be grateful if someone who does could write up a “trip report” we can share with other Wallyhood readers here.
Thanks to Abel Pacheco, Quality of Life Chair for the Wallingford Community Council (and Communications and Programs Specialist for the Seattle Police Foundation) for getting the word out.

    Hi WallyHood,

    Thanks for the notice!

The link for this address is a bit odd. Bing implies it’s a meetup on the street (how hip is the SPD!!??), Google Maps locates it to that condo complex, but no specifics.

As you are aware, trying to find the info on the SPD website is akin to Orpheus relieving Sisyphus. Can you provide more specific info about the location before the pizza party is to begin?

    Best,

    David

The story I remember on the invitation asks that you tell them you’ll be there. Note “Sgt. Manning will be bringing pizza and soft drinks.” I don’t know how many people actually read wallyhood, but I guess it’s possible that we might account for at least one extra pizza. I guess you have to bring your own beer. Anyway … I’m not sure it’s cool to post his email on the web and get it trashed by spammers, or if that’s how you’re supposed to contact him anyway.

The meeting address is at Lee Raaen’s law office. The building is at the corner where 34th turns into N. Pacific. There are two entrances: one for the condos and one for offices. The office entrance is 2110 N. Pacific.

Please let us know when the North Wallingford meeting will be. We have had cars broken into, a truck full of contracting equipment stolen, a car stolen – all on Latona. I am just hearing about these,
