After 7.5 years serving the community, Mosaic Coffeehouse is taking some time off to reassess how to serve our community.

Mosaic is closed for the month of August and as of this time has no set date to reopen. We will keep you posted as a plan develops.

We thank the community for supporting this experiment in our neighborhood as Seattle First Church of the Nazarene looked for ways to live out their faith in the Wallingford community.

For those who missed it, Mosaic was a unique coffeeshop and meeting space that operated with a “pay what you will” model. It is (was?) located in the basement of the church behind Dick’s, on 44th and 2nd Ave NE. It was profiled in Wallyhood back in 2010.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    So sad 🙁
We loved the play space they had in there. I also used to go in there to work sometimes, but the limiting of their hours made it hard for me to coordinate my work schedule well with them being closed a lot.
