Cat hit

  • Post author:

Kristin passed along this sad news yesterday:

I was hoping you could pass this on to the good people of Wallingford, since there’s nothing worse than not knowing where your cat is.  Unfortunately there was a cat hit by a car this morning on North 40th St, just east of Stone Way.  He ran in front of a car, was quickly removed from the street, but passed before we could get him to the cat clinic.
He is black with a white stomach and accents on the face with no tag.  I live right there and jumped in to help so if anyone has any questions I would be happy to help.  I’ll also reach out to my neighbors directly.  Please let me know if I can help with any other information.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Was the cat taken to a clinic to see if it was chipped?

Thank you for you kindness, Kristin. I live in the area of North 40th and have seen this friendly cat around the neighborhood. It is so sad to hear about what happened, but so good to know that we have such compassionate and thoughtful neighbors.

I think I just saw a sign about this cat on my way home today. It’s posted on a pole outside Sugar Envy by Pagliaccis. It had a picture of the cat on it, maybe Krisin could check it out to see if it’s the same cat. Said the owner lived in the apartment building just North & East of that intersection and that the cat had been missing a few days. Poor Kitty 🙁

Can I please get in touch with Kristin? I’m pretty sure this is my cat.

    Hi,

I think this might be my friends cat. Does anyone know if that cat was taken to the cat clinic or found after it was hit?
