Garage Sale Coming Up?

2014-09-07 19.37.04Thinking of having a garage sale? We are, this coming weekend (Sept 13 and 14th), and you should, too.

Ours should be epic, full of years of Burning Man costumes, lights, furniture, rafts, tools, mens clothes, women’s clothes, books, camping gear, appliances, and pretty much everything you ever wanted to find at a garage sale except a broken exercycle.

I figure that garage sales do better in clumps, since once you get people in the neighborhood, they tend to float to nearby sales, as well, so I’m encouraging anyone nearby to have one this coming weekend, too!

We’re at 4065 4th Ave NE, but anywhere in Wallingford should do. Email me if you’re planning to jump on the bandwagon, and I’ll include your address in a post I plan to run Friday.

(That picture is a tiny sliver of all what we’ve pulled out of closets, attic, basement, shelves, etc.)

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    John Stanford School used to have a massive annual “yard sale”. I found some cool stuff there. Does that still happen?

    Not to be pushy but could I possibly stop by and buy the yoga mat in the picture this Monday? Starting a new yoga class should be fun 🙂

    @Doug – The annual JSIS yard sale is still happening, in mid-late May.
