4toexploreWallyhood is pleased to welcome a new sponsor: 4 To Explore: A Northeast Neighborhoods Newsletter:

For 4 of the best things each month, explore www.4toExplore.org from Alex Pedersen. Our neighborhoods in Northeast Seattle — from Wallingford to Ravenna to Wedgwood — are like treasures to discover each month, when we just explore outside our front door.

With 4toExplore.org you’ll learn about 1 shop or restaurant to visit, 1 meeting to connect with neighbors, 1 fun activity to enjoy, and 1 neighborhood issue to engage. “4 to Explore” is a free monthly e-newsletter and website created for you by Alex Pedersen, our neighbor who has served Seattle as a City Council Legislative Aide. Enjoy Exploring!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

That is all well and good, but notice that it is also used as a propaganda tool for the city administrations positions for whom he works; for example, the preschool inititive.

So what is your point? Feel free to start your own blog if you have a message to convey instead of being cynical in your conments.I personally appreciate the chance to read what others have to say about an issue whether I agree or not.

Does anyone know if I can get my pressure canner gauge checked for accuracy locally? I have an older Presto model. Now that I have new gaskets on it I would like to do the thing right as advised by the Canning Mavens. Thanks in advance.

Laura, a little Googling got me to this page: http://www.summerinajar.com/supplies/
I don’t know if the information is still accurate.

Good look, because judging by the other comments on this article we are in dire need of pressure calibration.

The articles on the newsletter all say “0 comments,” possibly because there is no way to comment. I e-mailed and asked about comments and heard nothing. Certainly in the context of a “newsletter” he doesn’t have to accept comments, but shouldn’t use a format that mentions them.

If the business model of 4 to explore is offering advertorials, then I can see why comments would be unwelcome.
