Wallingford has an amazing, all volunteer-run thrift shop that benefits needy kids in our community. You may have walked by the Assistance League of Seattle‘s shop on 45th, between Interlake and Woodlawn, or you may be a regular visitor.

What you may not know is that the ALS has a wealth of brilliant, sparkling, unusual, treasure that will be offered for sale this week. There will be exceptional crystal, china, and objets d’art, as well as finer clothing and designer pieces at the Glitter Sale, starting November 11.

As the nights get longer, and the festive season approaches, everyone needs a little sparkle!  Come treasure-hunting at 1415 N 45th St!  The shop is open Tuesday through Friday, 10-4 and Saturday 12 to 4.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Assistance League thrift shop is full of bargains! Great clothing for both men and women, kitchen items and tons of treasures. Prices are very reasonable and the quality great!
