Join us in celebrating “Light Up The Night,” at the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce Annual Auction. This year’s theme of “Light Up The Night” offers Chamber members and friends of the community a night to come see what your local merchants have donated to raise money to support the community and improve our quality of life.

The annual gala offers great appetizers, live music, “no host” cash bar, free parking and good fun.  A line up of incredible silent and live auction items have been donated to support the Chamber’s mission in promoting the economic and community vitality of Wallingford. By working with businesses, neighbors and schools local community groups, the Chamber benefits the entire neighborhood.

“Light Up The Night” is this year’s community project.  The chamber is raising funds to purchase solar LED lights to illuminate the retail and business areas in Wallingford to beautify the neighborhood during dark nights and to attract shoppers to the business district during evening hours this holiday season.

The chamber has also partnered with the Northwest Burn Foundation and a portion of this year’s proceeds will go to support the Northwest Burn Foundation’s efforts to eliminate burn injuries and improve the quality of life for burn injury survivors served by the Foundation.

The Chamber welcomes additional sponsors and auction donations. General admission tickets are $50 per person. The auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Swedish Cultural Center, located at 1920 Dexter Ave, Seattle, WA 98109

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
