Grace meets Grace

Jordan Jordan January 5, 2015 Comments are off

Wallingford has a new religious option, a recent immigrant from Ballard. Pastor Sharon Busch writes:

Grace Gospel Chapel began in 1977 as an independent (non-denominational) evangelical church where the LGBT community could come and freely worship, be themselves and have no fear of not being welcome for who they were or for who they loved. This was truly an historic place, as in those years LGBT and often their friends and families were not welcome and felt excluded in main line churches.

The church grew and bought their own building in Ballard and remained in the Ballard area for about 37 years, where a variety of pastors have served this church, and have been instrumental in making this church a welcoming place for many people who were seeking to understand and reconcile their Christian faith with their sexual orientation. Grace Gospel Chapel over the years has consistently maintained that the gospel of Jesus Christ includes absolutely everyone, and there is always a place at Grace Gospel to worship, be involved, grow in your faith, and plenty of opportunities for service.

Over the years people came and went, our building grew older as we grew older and there became a time several years where we had to have serious conversations about how best to continue on the work of Grace Gospel Chapel. It was decided that we needed to sell this building in order to move on into the next chapter of our church’s history. While our building was for sale we considered many locations and we were blessed to find a great group of folks at Gift of Grace Lutheran Church who have graciously and generously opened their church to us and allowed us to share their facilities and make it our home as well.

Gift of Grace Lutheran has services on Sunday @ 10:30 AM, then there is a community meal called Grace Feast open to all, this starts @ 11:30 in the fellowship hall of the church, and Grace Gospel Chapel has services on Sunday@ 2:00PM. The Church is located @ 2102 North 40th Street Seattle WA 98103

Grace Gospel Chapel is a place of worship open to all, we are a smaller informal group, looking to rebuild our congregation as we continue to take the message of God’s love and acceptance for all people, providing a place to worship, grow in faith, become involved in our communities both the Wallingford community and the greater Seattle community, build bridges and network with other communities of faith.

We would love to have you stop by and visit us at Grace Gospel Chapel 2102 North 40th Street Seattle WA98103, or give us a call @ 206-784-8495, or visit us on the web. We truly are A Church Home for Everyone.
