Hey, remember how Ed Phippen said BikeWorks was collecting bikes for their program that teaches primarily disadvantaged kids through bike repair. Sounds like they did alright:

Hey!  We collected over 50 bikes and bike frames. Plus 6 boxes of parts and accessories. Thanks SO MUCH for your help!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    Hi Ed,

I wasn’t able to make it over that Saturday. I have a box of parts and tools (some new) to donate. When are you available or how can I get them to you?

(I’m not Ed, but …) the stuff went to Bikeworks. You can take your stuff there, too. They’re in Columbia City.

Hi Folks – I am not set up to take regular donations at my house. If you have stuff to donate, please take them to BikeWorks in Columbia City at 3709 S Ferdinand St. Or you can wait until next year. It looks like we’ll make this an annual event. Thanks everyone for your support!
