Pruning without Butchering

Kimberly February 5, 2015 Comments are off

PruningClassWhen I head outside with a pair of pruners, I am pretty sure my plants cower. My technique is haphazard at best. Pruning to promote a good crop of fruit – well that remains a mystery.

Luckily, the world has Ingela Wanerstrand – friend of fruit trees and professional pruner. If your skills could use some sharpening, you are in luck! Ingela is teaching a pruning class Saturday at the Freeway Estates Community Orchard.

Ruth writes:

Ingela Wanerstrand is a professional pruner with over 20 years of experience. She has a permaculture certification, teaches numerous workshops, and is an instructor in the Horticulture program at Edmonds Community College.

Join this seasoned pruner to discuss different pruning strategies and learn pruning techniques.

Saturday, February 7th, 2015, from 10:00am to 11:30am at Freeway Estates Community Orchard located at 6th Ave NE , just north of NE 60th St, next to the sound wall on the west side of I-5. Parking along 6th Ave NE.

Nearby bus routes: 26, 16, 66, 48.

Suggested donation: $12.00 per family. Proceeds benefit the Freeway Estates Community Orchard project.
