Sweetside Anniversary

Seattle_Wedding_Cake_and_Dessert_Bar_-_HOMEIf you’re feeling burnt over the teacher’s strike, bitter over the Art of Confections debacle, and just plain gobsmacked by the entire Republican presidential field, perhaps you could take some solace in nice, creamy slice of cheesecake.

Kara Burfiend of The SweetSide (254 NE 45th St) writes:

I want to invite you to pop into The SweetSide this Saturday to help us celebrate the bakery’s 1st Birthday! We will be giving away slices of our signature cakes and cheesecakes all day as well as some pretty great door prizes, including certificates for whole cakes, custom cakes, and holiday desserts!

It has been an amazing first year in  Wallingford and we want to see as many faces from the neighborhood as possible!

They’ll be rotating through their variety of cakes and cheesecakes throughout the day, 11 am – 7 pm this Saturday, September 12th.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    Hi cocoloco – In the same complex (45th and Thackery) as Fast Girl, Mr. Gyro and the Hawaiian store. Hope to see you tomorrow.
