Last Minute: Where are the haunted houses?

6320511749_4e31cdfc56_zI know, last minute. I asked way back at the beginning of Halloween for people to tell me if they were setting up haunted houses, day-glo houses or the like, and then I didn’t follow up. Bad blogger! Bad, bad blogger!

So now, day of: anyone want to let us know about a particularly good house to come visit tonight? Day-glo, haunted house, ir maybe treats for adults?

I can say that, as they do every year, the folks at 42nd and Eastern Ave have a fun setup. The kids love it, and it’s a nice opportunity to chat with the parents in the street, too.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

We always have about 100 trick or treaters each year and we decorate each year. I don’t know how to upload a photo of our house or I would post a picture. The kids love our decorations and come back every year even when they are teenagers and older.
