Christmas Ships

It’s not too late to catch the Christmas Ships:

The Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship festival is a holiday celebration that has been a Pacific Northwest tradition since 1949. Every year, the Argosy Christmas Ship sails to different Puget Sound waterfront communities, over 45 in total. Choirs onboard sing 20-minute performances to these communities, all broadcast via state-of-the-art speaker system. On shore, thousands of people gather around roaring bonfires anticipating the arrival of the Christmas Ship.

This Friday, from 8:40 to 9:00 pm, they’ll be pulling up in front of Westward and Little Gull on Lake Union from 8:40 to 9:00 pm, featuring the Emerald City Voices. If you miss this one, they’ll also be pulling by Gas Works on Dec 23rd from 9:45 to 10:05 pm, featuring the Seattle Girls Choir.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
