Multicare Coming Soon

Jordan Jordan July 28, 2016 2 Comments

For East Wallingford residents too pained to make it all the way over to the Zoomcare on Stone Way, you’ll soon have a closer EMS-emergency-medical-service-logooption. Urgent Care by Multicare is building out a new location in the old Hollywood Video / Emerald City Liquor building across from Dick’s.

Says the Multicare web site:

An urgent care clinic can be a good option at night or on weekends when you or your child’s doctor may not be in the office. At MultiCare Urgent Care clinics, you can get x-rays, stitches and care for a wide range of minor injuries and illnesses that aren’t life threatening, yet require medical attention on the same day.

Given its location, I imagine cholesterol screening would be a good addition, as well.

I don’t know much else, but the construction workers I spoke with tell me the plan calls for the first patient to be treated there on October 4th.

Be aware that they do not take Medicare, so if you are 65, they will not treat you. Medicare has to be primary regardless of additional health insurance. I have no idea why. This has been my experience, anyway.

I cut my healthcare costs in half by watching surgeries on youtube.com and learning to do them myself. Says a lot about America when young people pay others to do things we old folks pick up from videos!
