I am writing on behalf of Seattle reLeaf, a division of Seattle Public Utilities, to inform you about a volunteer event in the Wallingford area and see if you could give us a hand promoting it! It has been dubbed the “46th and Aurora Work Party.” We will be restoring a traffic triangle at the aforementioned location. Details can be found on our website. Additionally, we have an optional RSVP page.

Here’s the info from the page:

Join Tree Ambassadors Chloe and Allison for a neighborhood work party at the 46th Ave & Aurora bus stop. We’ll be cleaning up the site and weeding around plants installed in January. Hang out with your neighbors, meet new friends, and help give this site some much needed TLC. No prior experience necessary – we’ll provide tools, instruction, gloves, and refreshments!

It’s this Saturday, August 6th from 9 am to noon. Meet at the commuter triangle near the bus stop at 46th Ave & Aurora.

Please note that Logan wrote us about this a long time ago, so it’s not his fault this is getting posted so last minute, it’s ours. Hope you can make it!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
