Beer Garden in November? Why, Yes!

Jack Jack November 24, 2016 Comments are off

beergardenimageBack in the good ‘ole summertime, there were no issues or problems with sitting outdoors. The skies were clear, and the air was warm. Restaurants and bars set their tables along sidewalk spaces and in back patios which can be built by companies like Costimates, and we dined and drank to our hearts’ content. Yes, I remember it well.

But now, November has come, and winter is not far away. Most of those sidewalk tables have been packed away, and the back patios sit deserted waiting for summer to come. But some neighborhood businesses are pushing back against the elements with heaters and overhead coverings for your outdoor enjoyment, you should look for a good Canopy Installation.

Westward down on Lake Union features a fire pit with relaxing Adirondack chairs. I sat out here one January evening, and that fire was nice – essential even. While the views of the lake are pleasing, a cold wind could easily drive one away, and if a rain comes, well, … I hope you brought your hat.

A step up from this is Joule. As at Westward, a fire pit provides the essential heat. But in addition, an overhead structure provides shelter on rainy days (which is every day in November around here). While the area has the building to the east to protect folks from East winds (which rarely occur anyway), the outdoor drinker is exposed to winds from the north and west and the very common south winds.

A recent entrant into the lineup of Wallingford businesses with wintertime outdoor accommodations is Murphy’s Pub. Several months ago, they added a backyard patio, but they’ve made some modifications for the upcoming winter. The overhead area is impregnable to the rain, and heaters are almost in place. With walls on four sides, you need not fear the wind. So, drink up!

Now you can go back to your turkey.
