Vote, then celebrate!

Katy November 7, 2016 4 Comments

BallotOne way or another, the long and painful election is over on Tuesday night. Yay! Make sure to get your ballots in the mail by Monday so your voice can be heard.

If you waited till the last minute to fill out your ballot and worry about whether it will make it on time, you can drop it off in one of the ballot drop boxes, no stamp required. The closest ones to Wallingford are at the Green Lake Community Center and the Ballard Library. A map of these and other locations can be found on the King County Elections page.

Doug’s voter’s guide is a good resource if you are having trouble making some decisions and want an informed opinion from a neighbor.

Feel like celebrating on Tuesday night? Here’s a (non-inclusive) list of bars in the neighborhood that will be showing the election results on TV.

  • Murphy’s Pub
  • Seamonster Lounge
  • Octopus Bar
  • The Bounty
  • Russell’s

If you know of any local election night events, please let us know in the comments.

Very nice reminder – technically, of course, you can mail your ballot on election day — it just needs to be postmarked that day. You can make sure that happens by handing your ballot to a PO worker or making sure to mail it at the PO early that day. Happy voting!

Drop box also located at UW, outside Schmitz Hall, at 15th and NE 41st.

Also a new drop box, with convenient 15-minute load zone parking right outside the front door of Evans Pool/Green Lake Community Center.
