Beer Camp

In years past, New Belgium Brewing sponsored Clips of Faith, a beer and short movies festival in Gas Works Park. Clips of Faith is taking a year off in 2017, but it looks like Sierra Nevada is stepping in with something more beer-specific: Beer Camp on Tour.

This Friday, June 30th from 6 pm – 10 pm:

America’s largest craft beer festival is coming to Seattle! This summer, Beer Camp on Tour takes over Gas Works Park with hundreds of craft beers, the city’s best food trucks, live music and good times. Every craft brewer in the nation is invited and you are, too!

Entertainment includes the alt-country-rock band Vaudeville Etiquette, whose

dynamic sound pushes the boundaries of psych-folk with grit, passion, and come-hither wit. The Seattle quintet fills timeless melodies with modern lyrics, heady harmonies, and a potent country-meets-classic-rock chemistry.

…as well as The Dip, a seven-piece ensemble that “melds vintage rhythm and blues and modern pop with impeccably crafted, 60’s-steeped soul.” Eleven food trucks will be on hand to ensure you’re not drinking on an empty stomach.

As of this writing, the “beers” link on the Beer Camp on Tour website is leading to a “Server Error 500” page, but there is a mobile app (of course!) you can download to create “your must-try brewer lists and salivat[e] over food trucks,” plus get real-time Beer Camp updates.

Tickets range from $40 – $70, depending on when you get there and whether you’re the “designated driver”.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
