Brush Fire on 40th

Jack Jack August 18, 2017 2 Comments

The fire started about 11:45 am near the intersection of 40th and Pacific nearly under the I-5 bridge. This grassy, wooded area has been host in recent years to Rent-a-Ruminants as well as a homeless population. It is currently fenced off.

I couldn’t see how it might have started, but the fire department was there pretty fast to put it out. No injuries or damage (other than to grass, shrubs, etc.) that I could see.

Does anyone know about whether or not there was an investigation for the fire featured in this post: http://www.wallyhood.org/2016/09/arson-looting/#gsc.tab=0.

Every time I pass that house I think that 2 babies could have been killed. That it could have been intentional is truly frightening.

Fire Investigator believes the likely cause was an unexringuished cigarette igniting a dry house plant on the porch. It was an accidental fire.
