Music and Theater

Get yourself some culture, without even getting in a car.

On Sunday, December 3 at 10:30am, enjoy a performance of Taproot Theatre’s Silent Night by Daniel Stoltenberg at the Wallingford Presbyterian Church (1414 Ashworth Ave N):

A pair of strangers find themselves trapped with an angel, caught between time and continents. While not happy to find them in her space, the angel helps them find their ways home. This charming Christmas comedy spans centuries and reminds us that peace on earth begins in the hearts of every individual.

On December 11th at the University House (4400 Stone Way N), enjoy an evening of chamber music for wind instruments, performed by Sharon Jung (oboe) and Lucy Wenger (piano), as well as Madeline Beery (flute), Rosemary Bell (oboe) and Peter Klein (bassoon), produced by the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle. The performance is free and starts at 7:30 pm.

I am aware the piano is not a wind instrument. Don’t get picky.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
