Two MORE for District Four

Jordan Jordan June 7, 2019 3 Comments

Fresh on the heels of last week’s “Two Options ot Meet the City Council District 4 Candidates This Week“, we have two more opportunities coming up:

First, this Saturday, June 8th, the 43rd District Democrats are hosting a candidate forum at 1pm at the University of Washington’s Husky Union Building (HUB) Room 250, 4001 E Stevens Way NE.

The forum, which will be moderated by CrossCut columnist Dae Shik Kim Hawkins Jr., is open to all candidates. There are seven confirmed candidates attending, including Shaun Scott, Emily Myers, Joshua Newman, Alex Pedersen, Cathy Tuttle, Ethan Hunter, Beth Mountsier. The public is invited to submit questions for the candidates in advance by emailing [email protected], or questions can be submitted in writing at the event.

Then on Monday, June 10th, the Wallingford Community Council and the Northeast District Council are co-sponsoring a District 4 Candidate’s Forum from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM at the Sandpoint Learning Center, 5801 Sand Point Way NE.

Each candidate will have time to introduce him/herself and explain how they are qualified to represent District 4 on City Council and how each candidate will gather information from constituents on their interests and concerns. In addition, each candidate will explain what their top priority will be as well as why that particular issue is a priority and how will the candidate address it. Written questions will also be gathered from the audience in advance and each candidate will receive one of these questions to answer.

Thanks for posting these — I wasn’t able to attend the events last week, but the event this Saturday should work fine.

These are great opportunities! I would also like to invite community members to my campaign launch party for Seattle School Board, Pos. 2 (the seat currently held by Rick Burke, covering District 2). All are invited:

    Launch with Lisa!
    Sunday, June 9
    5:00-7:00pm
@ Friday Afternoon, 4228 Stone Way N., in Wallingford

Help me launch my campaign for Seattle School Board! There’s no formal agenda, except to celebrate the start of an amazing journey I hope we will take together. My ability to be an agent of change will only be as strong as the connections I have with you, and all stakeholders in the education and success of our students. RSVPs appreciated at https://www.facebook.com/events/617134748788425/

I hope to see you there!

Alex is a breath of fresh air in that he truly will listen to his constituents and be transparent which has been lacking from current city council members. So let’s support someone who will support us.
