Wallingford Family Parade Takes Place Saturday

  • Post author:

Next in a long lineup of summer Seafair events is the Wallingford Family Parade. This event got its start, incredibly enough, in the middle of the last century, and although it has had its ups and downs, it has survived up to this very moment thanks to local event producer Celebrate Wallingford.

  • Date: Saturday, July 13
  • Time: 11 am

From the parade website:

The 70th Annual Wallingford Family Parade celebrates the grand reopening of Lincoln High School and honors students from 1940 thru 2020. Show off YOUR school spirit and grab some pom-poms, some tie-dye or your best Goth; then join the Seafair Clowns, drill teams, local groups and families for day of neighborhood fun.

The parade begins at Meridian Park, and heads south down Bagley. Taking a right turn on 45th, the parade heads west and ends up at Interlake near Lincoln High.

The parade has a long list of sponsors that make this parade possible, most instantly recognizable to members of our community. Chief among the sponsors is Bedrooms and More which also sponsors the very blog you are now reading.

Interested in marching in the parade? Or maybe you have a group that would like to march. You’ll need to register and follow some simple rules. More information is here.
