Food and Drinks on 45th – September 2021 Update

Alan Ness September 21, 2021 Comments are off

There have been a few twists and turns lately at local Food and Drink establishments on 45th. Here is an Editor’s Choice article with some personal observations.  Let’s run them down:

Grand Central Bakery

I was surprised last week to see the small sign: Closed on Monday and Tuesdays in September due to staffing. Subject to change.  Is there a secret general labor strike going on?  Anyway, I look forward to their re-opening back everyday.

Young Tea

In the ‘old’ Starbucks location is a sign for a new tea shop: Young Tea.  Can’t wait.

This editor’s pick of some of the restaurants that opened up outdoor dining in parking spots outside their shops:

Yuroshiku

With great ramen and Japanese food.

Pam’s Kitchen

Great Trinidadian cuisine comes outdoors!

The Octopus Bar with their Salty Shack

Great sandwiches, drinks and treats. Always a fun atmosphere.

New Mural

Outside of Bottleworks is a new mural. Even though there is the word “Merlot” on it, that is actually one of four signatures of the four artists who painted it.  Look for a further mural addition that wraps around to the front of the shop.
