In-Person Open House at Wallingford Nonprofit Preschool

Julie Martin Julie Martin November 29, 2021 Comments are off

Fremont Community School (FCS) is a Waldorf-inspired nonprofit preschool that is dedicated to giving young children every opportunity to come together and learn in a vibrant, holistic environment. FCS has been serving families of preschool aged children from Wallingford, Fremont, Phinney Ridge, Ballard, University, and Greenlake neighborhoods since 1986.

On Saturday, December 11th, Fremont Community School will be holding an in-person Open House from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for prospective families who are looking to enroll their child for the 2022-23 school year at the Orchard Preschool located at 3530 Interlake Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98103. This is a free event open to the public, adults only please. As the event is in-person, all attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and to wear a mask while on school grounds. To RSVP for this event, email info@fremontcommunityschool.com or call 206-547-4054 with your name and the number of attendees in your party. For more information about our programs, please visit fremontcommunityschool.org.
The Orchard Preschool serves children 2.5 to 5 years old for up to 4 hours per day; morning or afternoon; with flexible schedule options between 2 and 5 days per week; during the school year (September through May) and during the summer (June through August.) FCS’s Orchard Preschool provides an outdoor, explorative play-based education program that emphasizes the emotional and physical development of children. This program is 100% outdoors, whatever the weather, in an expansive play area. It is in this dynamic environment that children learn and retain the most from their experience. Talking about the worm they just found while it wiggles in their hands teaches young children far more about worms than they could retain from a book. In our fully fenced garden play yard, children are allowed to climb, dig, run, and splash to their heart’s content. Our “toys” are open-ended and inspire imagination and cooperation in a constantly changing platform for creative play. Children enjoy building, sewing, singing, story-telling, painting, baking, and learning in a myriad of ways through their experiences at Fremont Community School. The social and emotional wellbeing of the children in our care is of the utmost importance to us and is essential for their future. It is our work to help them build the foundational knowledge to support the lifelong pursuit of mastering kindness.

Come explore our expansive play space! Get your questions about our programs, policies, daily rhythms, and Waldorf-inspiration directly from our Directors, Administrators, and Lead Teachers at this informational event. Please, bring your queries but not your children. This is an adult-only event. If you would like your child to experience our yard, you must set up a personal tour. Contact [email protected] to schedule a tour separate from the open house.
