Creatures of Wallyhood

Megan Dulgar Okabayashi Megan Dulgar Okabayashi July 23, 2022 4 Comments

The Coyotes eat the cats who eat the rats who eat the trash…but where do the crows fit in?

Being top of the food chain, Wally-humans may not fear for our own safety when we see a legged or winged predator, but a quick glance at any of the neighborhood facebook groups reminds us that we have a lot of opinions on the growing number of coyote sightings in the neighborhood.  A heated debate has emerged on the topic of outdoor cats — some fearing for the safety of their free-roaming feline friends and others essentially taking the side of “you had it coming”.

If you have captured photos or stories about the creatures of Wallyhood (Coyotes, outdoor cats, rats, crows, etc.) please send them to wallyhood.org so we can pull them into a coming piece.

If you’re going to write about coyotes this is a good place to start. https://seattlecoyotestudy.wixsite.com/seattlecoyotestudy

When you say “send them to wallyhood.org”, what do you mean? Post my story/photo here? I have a (short – very short) story and an (equally very short) video. https://youtube.com/shorts/t-jeMsSOflY

Er, I guess no one is monitoring this discussion. Oh, well.

      Rob,
Just send an email to [email protected]. One of the editors will review your post, get back to you with any editor’s suggestions, and follow up by posting the information. It is helpful if you have two or three photos to illustrate the post. I have not figured out how to post a video on Wallyhood. I think your use of YouTube is the right approach. Just put the link to YouTube in your post.

Wallyhood needs you!

This community blog is all volunteer run, and we welcome articles from everyone in the Wallingford community. Something on your mind? Have a story to share? Please contact us at [email protected] today!
