Ladd and Lass One-Year Anniversary Celebration

Jack Jack January 5, 2023 Comments are off

While not quite located in our neighborhood, Ladd and Lass Brewing (located at 722 NE 45th St beside the Blue Moon) is, for many of us, our nearest brewery. (That may change next year for some of us with the arrival of Gasworks Brewing.) L&L opened about a year ago as reported here by Gary, and now they are celebrating their one-year anniversary.

Jessie Quan, an L&L founder along with Nick Ladd, emailed us to say:

Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful (warm, safe, and power outage-free) holiday season!

I’m writing because Ladd & Lass is officially a year old now and we’re throwing a party to celebrate! Planned for Saturday, 1/7, from 2-10pm, the party will be a joyous gathering of food, drink, and fun!

Celebration features:

  • 2 new beers:
    • Year One, an English barleywine. Packed with incredible aromas of bready malt, toasty biscuit, and delightfully rich caramel and toffee, Year One is “a liquid love letter to everyone who has supported us this past year.”
    • The Pale Project, an American pale ale. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this brew will go towards supporting the Cascadia College Foundation.
  • Food trucks:
    • Carbon Pop. Gourmet burgers!
    • Lovely and Dapper Desserts. Desserts featuring “tin can” cakes.
  • Launch of the L&L Can Club. Benefits of the $200 annual membership include (12) 4-packs and discounts on draft pours, beer-to-go, and merchandise.

Jessie goes on:

As with all L&L celebrations, there will be a coloring contest! Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 vote-getters. And Kodi Sershon, the illustrator behind our Baba Yaga-inspired Deprived of Light beer label, will be joining us to create custom, hand-drawn portraits of our party guests.

So head on over to Ladd and Lass on Saturday, January 7! And tell them Wallyhood sent you!
