This message comes to us from Camille, a parent / Board Member at KapKa Cooperative School, up the street from the Woodland Park Zoo.
We wanted to share with your readers that KapKa is hosting a few more school tours in January and February and an Open House on Saturday, January 20th, 2024.
KapKa Cooperative School was established in 1989 and provides an exceptional progressive, integrative education for children from Kindergarten through 5th Grade. KapKa was founded by local community members, and making and keeping community is part of what makes KapKa special. We have a strong focus on environmental education and received an incredible grant this year from the Snoqualmie Tribe to learn about creating sustainable outdoor environments and promoting respectful and mindful engagement with nature. We have a 8:1 teacher to student ratio, spend quite a bit of time outside every day, and participate in community service projects throughout the year. Our students come joyfully to school each day, and are sad when school is out.
