Fabulous February at WCSC

Gini Tripp “Multi-Medium Artist Wanna Be” Presentation
Monday, February 3
3:15 to 3:30 pm plus time for Q & A

Come in and see the current display of art, jewelry and accessories with a presentation by the artist. Our artist presentations have been insightful and inspiring and we are looking forward to this one. Gini is a member of the Creative Mending workshop that runs 1:00 to 3:00 pm-right before the presentation. Feel free to bring in a project or come by and see what other menders are up to.

NW African American Museum Outing

Join us for a guided tour of The Northwest African American Museum (NAAM)! NAAM exhibitions and programs feature the visual arts, music, crafts, literature, and history of African Americans in the Northwest. The museum focuses on African Americans whose route to the new world was through slavery as well as recent immigrants arriving from places such as Somalia, Sudan, and Ethiopia. RSVPs required. $14 for members, $16 for nonmembers.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

End of Life WA Presentation

Watercolor Landscape Painting Class

Learn how to paint a beautiful landscape with watercolor, no experience necessary! Follow along with a step-by-step demo from Kelly, and leave class with a completed painting. Supplies are provided, including paper, paints, brushes, and reference photos from around Washington State. Free, RSVPs required.

 

 

 

 

 

Fort Nisqually Living Museum Outing
Wednesday, Feb 26
9:30 to 3:30 pm

Experience daily life in the 1850s! Fort Nisqually was the first European settlement on Puget Sound, and is now a living history museum where volunteers and staff, in period clothing, engage visitors in the work, crafts, and social practices of the mid-19th century. We will have a guided tour of the museum, followed by lunch before we head back to WCSC. RSVPs required, $21 for members, $23 for nonmembers. Price includes admission to the museum, bring money for lunch or pack your own! 

 

 

 

 

 

Scarecrow Presents: The Hundred-Foot Journey

Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) is an extraordinarily talented and largely self-taught culinary novice. When he and his family are displaced from their native India and settle in a quaint French village, they decide to open an Indian eatery. However, Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), the proprietress of an acclaimed restaurant just 100 feet away, strongly objects. War erupts between the two establishments, until Mallory recognizes Kadam’s impressive epicurean gifts and takes him under her wing.

Tech Mentoring at WCSC

 Mondays 10 – 12 with Randy and 2-5 with Amri Wednesday 1-4 with Baley 1st and 3rd Thursdays- 1 – 3 with Laura Fridays 1 – 3 with Roger Tech mentoring is free RSVP required. Appointments are 1 hour long. Please bring your device, cords, passwords and anything else you need to accomplish your tech task. If you need help with desktops or printers? We have a mentor to help with at home problems.
