Aslan Brewing Tangletown Soft and Grand Openings

DOUG. DOUG. May 30, 2025 Leave a Comment

This Sunday, Bellingham-based Aslan Brewing is “softly” opening the doors of their second Seattle location at the previously (somewhat) cursed corner of n 56th Street and Kirkwood Place N in Tangletown—the same spot that, over the past two decades, has housed Darkalino’s, The Burgundian, The Pour House, Bandelero, Luau Polynesian, and probably other establishments I cannot remember. But because I’ve visited both of Aslan’s Bellingham locations, as well as their taproom in Fremont, I am optimistic that Aslan, unlike its predecessors, will have legitimate staying power in the cozy space at 2253 N 56th Street. Their current taprooms and brewpubs are typically bustling with good vibes, so there’s every reason to think that this new dog- and kid-friendly addition to North Wallyhood will be a great place to hang with friends and neighbors over a couple of tasty beers.

In addition to a diverse list of ales and lagers, Aslan Tangletown will feature a “seafood-focused menu,” with fish and chips, steamed clams, and other fishy dishes. They’ll also have salads and small plates, like olives and locally baked baguettes. And like the three other Aslan locations, adorning the walls in the Tangletown taproom will be colorful, “human-centric” murals by Connor McPherson.

To kick things off, Aslan Tangletown will have a soft opening on Sunday, June 1, beginning at 5:00 pm, and then another on Monday, June 2, at 4:00 pm. The hours for the soft openings will be “limited” and there is no set closing time for either night. Afterwards, they will then close their doors for two days to “recalibrate,” opening again for their OFFICIAL grand opening on Friday, June 5. Starting then, their normal operating hours will be Friday through Sunday 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Monday through Thursday 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

So stop by this coming week for one of their openings (soft or grand) to have a beer and see Connor’s fabulous artwork. Or visit sometime in the future—like for the Official Porchfest After Party on June 21. Together we shall reverse this corner’s curse!
