The council has had its hand in negotiations regarding the transfer station, the Wallingford Steps, Animal Storm sculpture, support for the Wallingford parade during Seafair in July, and so much more! You can support this grassroots organization and get involved by attending the upcoming meeting on Wednesday, May 14, from 7-8:30 pm at the Good Shepherd Center, 4659 Sunnyside Avenue N, in the Chapel on the 4th floor. The check-in will run from 6:30-6:55 pm.
This meeting will include an election of board members and officers from 7-7:20 pm. To vote, one must have joined or renewed 2025 membership by April 28th. If you are interested in serving on the board, please email [email protected] with a short description of your interest and neighborhood involvement.
Following the election, from 7:20-8:15, the speaker for the meeting will be King County Regional Council District 4 Representative, Jorge Baron. If you have questions for Representative Baron, please email them by May 12th to [email protected].
The Wallingford Community Council strives to keep the community informed about city and state land use actions that will affect Wallingford. Currently there are significant changes in the works resulting from state statute HB1110, which passed in 2024 and will significantly increase allowable building heights, lot coverage, and housing density citywide. In addition, the city council “Select Committee” will be holding hearings and meetings in May. See details here.
We want to thank the Board of the Wallingford Community Council for advocating for Wallingford and offering current information for all. Let’s support our council!
