Neighborcare Health Unveils Major Expansion of 45th Street Dental Clinic

Neighborcare Health is excited to announce the renovation and expansion of its 45th Street Dental Clinic, located at 1629 N 45th Street in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. This project expands access to dental care to an additional 2,300 neighbors in need, increasing total clinic capacity to more than 6,300 dental visits annually. The project replaces four aging operatories with six brand new state-of-the-art dental spaces, significantly enhancing the clinic’s ability to meet rising community needs and improve oral health outcomes for low-income and uninsured individuals.   

Neighborcare Health invites press, supporters, and all members of the community to attend a ribbon-cutting celebration on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the 45th Street Dental Clinic. See details below.

The expansion was made possible through a Washington State Department of Commerce grant of $1.75 million awarded in 2023 and a successful $400,000 capital campaign, supported by 30 generous donors and philanthropic partners, including:

  • Roberts Family Foundation – Champion Level ($75,000)
  • The Norcliffe Foundation – Partner Level ($25,000)

Neighborcare Health invites press, supporters, and all members of the community to attend a ribbon-cutting celebration on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the 45th Street Dental Clinic located at 1629 N 45th Street.

The event will include a formal ceremony and ribbon cutting, clinic tours, and the presentation of the Nancy Long Neighborcare Health Dental Achievement Award. One will honor a beloved and highly respected dentist at Neighborcare whose career has made a lasting impact on many, and a second will celebrate an exceptional graduate of the organization’s Dental Residency Program.

“Decades ago, this clinic was born from a community that fought for equitable health care in this space against the interests of for-profit developers. Today, Neighborcare honors that legacy by expanding its reach and rising to meet today’s urgent challenge – ensuring thousands of additional neighbors can access the quality dental care they so rightly deserve,” said Nancy Long, former long-time Executive Director of 501 Commons.

“This renovation is more than just a facility upgrade — it’s about removing barriers to essential care and investing in long-term community health,” said Dr. Wade Kendall, Dental Services Director at Neighborcare Health. “We’re excited to bring even more patients in to meet their needs for dental care.”
