Coffeeholic House, self-proclaimed as Seattle’s first Vietnamese coffee shop, opened its newest location in the Wallingford neighborhood on July 17th. Located at 4417 Wallingford Ave N in the retail space of the Chronicle Apartments, the establishment promises an experience blending traditional Vietnamese coffee culture with innovative, modern twists. The Wallingford location features an exclusive lineup of signature matcha and Vietnamese coffee beverages, alongside other fan-favorite coffee drinks. The food menu, available only at this location, includes house-made onigiri and croffles (croissant waffles), crafted daily for grab-and-go convenience.
Founded by the dynamic husband and wife duo Chen Dien and Trang Cao, Coffeeholic House first opened in Columbia City in March 2020. Despite launching during the height of the pandemic, the business expanded to Greenwood and Bellevue, with Wallingford becoming their latest venture.
“Our Wallingford location is a celebration of innovation and craftsmanship,” Chen said in a press release. “We’ve created an experience that’s both familiar and completely new, with flavors you won’t find at any of our other shops.”
Coffeeholic House has gained significant community recognition since its inception. Founders Chen and Trang were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Local Seattle list in August 2023, and Seattle Met named Coffeeholic “Seattle’s favorite coffee shop” in 2021.
The coffee shop specializes in a unique Vietnamese coffee experience with single-origin coffee beans imported from Da Lat, Vietnam, and roasted in Seattle. Adhering to Vietnamese tradition, Coffeeholic brews highly caffeinated robusta coffee grounds through a phin-drip filter, resulting in an intense cup with a rich flavor profile.
