Freeway Estates Community Orchard Annual Cider Fest, Saturday, October 18th

Our friend Melody sent Wallyhood a reminder about the annual Cider Fest at the Freeway Estates Community Orchard (FECO). FECO is a community garden that makes excellent use of public land bordering I-5 just north of the Free Republic of Wallingford. Details about the event are below.

Join us for the Freeway Estates Community Orchard’s 15th annual Cider Fest!

Free hot, fresh-pressed cider, pies for sale, native plants, and friendly neighbors are waiting for you this Saturday afternoon! Freeway Estates Community Orchard is a garden on a 12,000 square foot plot, located next to Interstate 5 in the Green Lake neighborhood. FECO is leasing the land from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the current manager of this public land. Our mission is to produce healthy food for those in need and provide a destination for neighbors and visitors to connect with each other and the land.
