Folk Dancing with Meridian School
Tuesday, November 4
2:30 to 3:00 pm

Learn a new folk dance from the second graders of the Meridian School! The students will be learning new dances each month and then become our teachers on first Tuesdays. Enjoy different styles of folk dances from around the world! Classes will take place in the Meridian School gym—we will meet at WCSC and walk over together.

 

 

Cinema Termite presents: Forbidden Planet
Wednesday, November 5
1:30 to 3:30 pm

The first science fiction film to depict humans traveling in a human-made faster-than-light starship and the first to be set entirely on a planet orbiting another star, far away from Earth and the Solar System. This pioneering 1956 American science-fiction film, a loose adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, is known for its early all-electronic score and the introduction of the iconic Robbie the Robot.

 

 

Senior Self Defense Presentation
Thursday, November 6
1:15 to 2:15 pm

Empower Your Seniors with Safety & Confidence—Let’s Book Your Empower Hour. Join us for an interactive self-defense session designed to help seniors feel more confident, independent, and informed about their personal safety. Led by Gig Harbor Self Defense, this session covers real-life safety strategies—how to identify potentially dangerous situations, what criminals often look for, and simple, effective ways to avoid becoming a target. No physical activity is required. RSVPs appreciated. $5 for members, $7 for non-members.

 

 

Veterans Day Lunch
Friday, November 7
12:00 to 1:00 pm

The 133rd Army Band will be back for the third year in a row to help us celebrate our community’s veterans. Veterans eat free! If you want to enjoy the music but not eat lunch, there is no charge; otherwise, normal lunch prices apply ($6 members, $8 non-members). RSVPs appreciated.

 

 

 

Best of the Northwest Art & Craft Show
Friday, November 7
2:00 to 4:30 pm

Come with us to the annual Best of the Northwest Fall Show, Seattle’s Premier Art and Fine Craft show! Enjoy seeing 115+ talented NW artists in all media. Watch artists in action and see how the artwork is made, and find some exciting local treasures. RSVPs required. $8 for members, $10 for non-members.

 

 

 

King County Metro Orca Pop-Up
Wednesday, November 19
1:30 to 3:30 pm

The King County Metro team will be on-site to provide assistance with getting a new Adult ORCA Card or Senior and Disabled Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP), replace lost or damaged cards, answer questions, offer guidance about using the regional transit system, provide information about new Metro services, and listen to your feedback!

 

 

 

Thanksgiving Luncheon

Your membership matters! Join us for our 2025 Annual Membership Meeting and get an update on the state of WCSC, vote to approve bylaw changes, and elect board members. Free for members, $10 for non-members. Advance registration appreciated.
