The U District Chow Down returns this year on Saturday, October 4th. The Chow Down is a daylong (11 am to 8 pm) neighborhood street party and food walk, featuring over 60 restaurants offering $5 bites and a street party on the Ave with live music, comedy performances, audience contests, and a spectacular K-Pop dance party finale next to the light rail station.
This year’s highlights:
- $5 bites and sips across the neighborhood at 60+ participating businesses
- Audience competitions: a hot dog-eating contest, bobbing-for-boba, and a blindfolded bagel schmear challenge
- Live music from:
- Kondo reNzou Marimba (High-energy Zimbabwean music)
- Warren Dunes (Indie beach pop)
- Analog Brass (pop-funk)
- waltzerr (Indie pop)
- Standup comedy from Laughs Comedy Club
- K-Pop Demon Hunter Dance Party at NE 43rd Street & Brooklyn Avenue N from 6:30-8:30 pm, with DJ Moobek and local dance crews

This event is produced by The U District Partnership, bringing together local eateries, entertainers, and businesses to create a fun day in the U District for the entire city.
