With the holiday season right around the corner, the Annual University House Holiday Bazaar has been scheduled for Saturday, November 22nd, from 10 am–2 pm to be held at University House Wallingford, located at 4400 Stone Way N. In addition to providing a fun activity for residents, this event is open to the public, making it a great opportunity for all of Wallingford to enjoy. Last year, there were 14 vendors with vintage and handcrafted jewelry, high-end soft sculpture ornaments and toys, handcrafted knitwear, handwoven scarves, Historic Wallingford’s Holiday Cards, and more. I attended the event and can attest that it was a lot of fun, and I got to talk to many local vendors and artists.
This year’s event is promising to be equally enjoyable. A few of this year’s purveyors are highlighted below.

Virginia Morrison, a 98-year-old resident of University House Wallingford, sews beautiful tote bags, pocket purses, microwave cozies, and many other items. She donates all her proceeds to Birds Connect Seattle (formerly Seattle Audubon), where she was a volunteer for many years.

Margaret Vance, a Wallingford fiber artist, sews detailed winged small animals, each one a work of art.

John Nicon, also a resident of University House, covers small, reclaimed wood boxes with wood veneers in complex geometric patterns. He donates all his proceeds to the Employee Appreciation Fund at UHouse.

At the Historic Wallingford table, there will be a 2026 Wallingford-inspired calendar by local artist Melinda Hannah.
In addition to the items above, you will find jewelry, handmade cards, homemade jams, Christmas ornaments, and much more, all suitable for holiday gifting. University House welcomes the community to stop in, browse, and chat with the many vendors as you start your holiday shopping.
