In the wake of the sudden closing of the Guild 45th, The Iron Bull made an announcement on their Facebook page Thursday morning on the status of the bar, indicating that they still plan to reopen their establishment at some point.

Mysterious shuttering of the Guild Theater

The Guild 45th has closed its doors, shuttered the ticket window and cleared the marquee.

We were first made aware of this in a tip on Monday evening by Wallyhood reader, Griffin, alerting us that the “they just shut down the Guild 45th and Seven Gable theaters effective immediately.  The staff found out as they showed up for work”.

B.F. Day Elementary 125th Anniversary Celebration

Did you know that B.F. Day Elementary School in Fremont is the oldest, continually operating school in Seattle?  They are celebrating their 125th Anniversary this month!

B.F. Day opened on May 2nd, 1892 and has served the neighborhood ever since. The school was originally built to accommodate the growing number of children from railroad and lumber families coming to Fremont and Wallingford as the industries grew around Lake Union. The first year the school had 185 students in grades 1-6.
