Fifth Annual PorchFest Set for June 21st in Tangletown

Our neighborhood music festival, now called Tangletown PorchFest, will be presenting its fifth annual show next week. This family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, June 21st, beginning at 12:30 pm, with the last performance starting at 8 pm. The performance porches are located along N 52nd Street on either side of Meridian Avenue N, and on N 54th Street at Keystone Place N up to Kirkwood Place N. WUMC to Host Holocaust Theatre Performance Sunday, March 23rd

This Sunday, Wallingford United Methodist Church (WUMC) will sponsor a staged reading of Holocaust stories, entitled Surviving Survival. All are welcome to attend.

Two short stories by Polish-Canadian Yiddish writer Chava Rosenfarb will be performed by Tales of the Alchemysts Theatre, weaving together music, song, and dance. Evocative and unsettling, the stories explore the intricacies of memory, guilt, and the delicate balancing act of moving through pain to achieve stability.

Chava Rosenfarb was a survivor of the Lodz ghetto, as well as Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps. Her stories have been translated into English by her daughter, Goldie Morgentaler.…
