The Wallingford Community Council will meet at 7:15 PM on Wednesday September 3rd at the Good Shepherd Center.

On the agenda will be an update from SPU regarding upcoming construction activities and noise issues, WCC grant applications and procedures, graffiti problems and solutions, and reports from WCC committees (Land Use, Quality of Life, Community Engagement, Shoreline and Communication committees).

Wallingford Project Idea? Need Funding?

Have an idea for a wallingford community project that needs funding?

Our neighborhood was awarded $13,600 in grants from Waste Management by coming in first in recycling outreach activities for the 2013-14 Think Green Recycling Challenge.

The Wallingford Community Council is accepting applications for community projects for part or all of those funds. The deadline for submission of your ideas is September 19th. Grant requirements and instructions are on the WM Think Green Recycling Challenge grant guidelines.…

Community Council Meets Wednesday Evening

The Wallingford Community Council will meet on Wednesday, July 2nd, 7:15 PM at the Good Shepherd Center. Among the items on the agenda will be updates on current neighborhood issues, including WCC’s appeal of the project on the former AvTech property, updated CVS plans for the old Tully’s site, and a request for a zoning exception to allow an office building on the site of the Northlake Ave. boat storage facility.

Community Council Meets Wednesday

The Wallingford Community Council held its annual meeting on May 12th. Congressman Jim McDermott was the special speaker discussing the roots of the current dysfunction in congress and answering questions from the audience. WCC members elected officers and directors. Jim Fryett was elected president.

The first meeting of the Community Council’s new year will be held on Wednesday, June 4th , 7:15 PM at the Good Shepherd Center. Among the items on the agenda will be updates on current neighborhood issues, WCC’s appeal of the project on the former AvTech property, and plans for the coming year.…

Congressman McDermott at WCC Annual Meeting

The Wallingford Community Council is honored to have Congressman Jim McDermott as the featured speaker at its annual meeting on Monday, May 12th, 7:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Center Chapel.

WCC To Discuss Burke-Gilman Trail Changes

The Wallingford Community Council will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Good Shepherd Center, Room 202 on Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome.

On the agenda will be a presentation regarding improvements and changes to the Burke-Gilman Trail. The Burke-Gilman Trail is more than a regional treasure; it is a major transportation, recreation and nature corridor and the most heavily-used trail in Washington. In recent years, the trail’s growing popularity has led to overcrowding and conflicts between pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists. Additional development, including a new light rail station, is anticipated to dramatically increase trail demand.…

Community response to Avtech site project, including comment and appeal periods. Gas Works Park Phytoremediation Major pedestrian improvements at Stone Way and Northlake Way through WCC Grant Waterway projects. Community grants and recycling challenge participation Updates on land use and other neighborhood issues.
