Sounds like there was quite a to-do around Green Lake last night, with several blocks cordoned off by the police as they chased a hit and run driver who fled on foot.

The 2010 Green Lake Relay for Life kicked off with an informational session this past Tuesday, January 26th at Tutta Bella. (More info) The Love ‘em or Leave ‘em Valentine’s Day Dash will fill the streets of Green Lake and Wallingford with up to 3,000 costumed, sweating participants on February 13th. A lurker was spotted Wednesday morning on Sunnyside Ave N, near the intersection of 38th. My wife was walking our two dogs at approximately 6.15 AM and noticed a man slip into the bushes. The dogs did, too – all six eyes kept a careful watch. Wallingford Farmers Market in doubt?
We just read in the Wallingford eNewsletter (put out by the Wallingford Neighborhood Office) that the Wallingford Farmers Market won’t be returning to Wallingford Center this coming year. A new location in Wallingford is being discussed, apparently (Good Shepherd Center)?
They’re also discussing changing the day of the week from Wednesday (Saturday?)…
Flipping Intrigue
The story of the flipped SUV we reported on last night just got more interesting. David wrote us with his first hand report:
I was about half a block away walking up Wallingford Ave when the wreck happened. Three guys in the Explorer were crossing Eastbound from a stop sign. They zipped out right in front of a Mazda who slammed on the brakes but still broadsided them and they flipped. When I got there they were crawling out the side windows and a lot of smoke was coming from the truck. They were saying stuff like “Who hit us? …
