Wallyhood is a "group blog" with many contributors. However, whenever you see a post written by "Wallyhood", that's Jordan Schwartz, Wallyhood's founder, Editor-in-Chief, Publisher, community manager, janitor, account executive, and chief enthusiast. Jordan has lived in the same little house in Wallingford since 1993. He arrived from points east with his cat, Fourth, and has since been joined by his wife Michelle, son Zevin, chickens Dominique, Winny and Betty and bees innumerable and unnamed. Days find him working on Pathable, a social networking service for conferences and events.

Jordan January 5, 2010 Comments are off

Cathy Tuttle writes:

Sustainable Wallingford is growing into a group of friends and neighbors who are looking ahead to the time when we will need to live more locally and care about each other more compassionately.  Welcome to 2010!

When we hear the words climate change, peak oil, food security, downsizing, and local economy, we want to be part of a community that is not overwhelmed. Instead, we want to use these changes as opportunities to live more …

First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to give feedback on Wallyhood. The fact that almost 250 were willing to take a moment out of their day to help us understand our readers and make this blog better testifies to the fact that y’all care!

Not surprisingly, most readers live in Wallingford. It’s a Wallingford blog, after all. What may be a bit surprising, though, is that almost half live between 40th and 50th Streets:

We’re not quite sure why that geographic area would dominate, except that most of the postering we’ve ever done has been in …

Bad Wig / Ugly Track Suit

Jordan December 29, 2009 1 Comment

Yesterday, we covered what’s going on New Year’s Eve in Wallingford, but what about New Year’s Day? For ourselves, we’re planning on hitting the Polar Bear Plunge at Matthews Beach at noon on the 1st, but if we get the shivers, we may just slap a wig on, find ourselves the finest track suit we can, and head over to Green Lake. Says My Green Lake: “Meet at Noon, Friday January 1, 2010, at the Kiddie Wading Pool at Greenlake to walk the 2.2 mile radius in style.”
