Wallingford Transit Changes

(Mike Ruby contributed this update) A detailed report on the planned transit improvements that are being agreed to between Seattle and Metro can be found on the Seattle Transit Blog. Specifically for Wallingford there will be improvements in reliability through schedule changes to give more time between stops and at layover for the driver. This does not mean increased frequency of service but it does force a few more buses on the route to keep the current frequency. The following routes are…

Mr Gyros coming to Wallingford

It's confirmed: the popular Greek sandwich shop Mr Gyros is opening a new branch in Wallingford, on 45th Street between Latona and Thackeray (next to the Hawaiian store, where Night Light Nails used to be). When I head outside with a pair of pruners, I am pretty sure my plants cower. My technique is haphazard at best. Pruning to promote a good crop of fruit - well that remains a mystery. Luckily, the world has Ingela Wanerstrand - friend of fruit trees and professional pruner. If your skills could use some sharpening, you are in luck! Ingela is teaching a pruning class Saturday at the Freeway Estates Community Orchard. Ruth writes: Ingela Wanerstrand is a professional pruner…
