Wallingford Carjacking

I was having lunch at Pinky's BBQ this afternoon as three SPD cruisers screamed west down 45th Street. Now I know why. According to the this story in The Seattle Times, Seattle police was called to the 4400 block of Woodlawn Avenue North around 3 p.m with a reporting of carjacking. But it's a good news / bad news situation: the good news is, police have arrested a long-operating, serial car prowl gang. When I passed by Friday night, he had a mix of chanterelle, black trumpet, matsutake, cauliflower, lobster and other varieties on hand. WildWillis will be in that spot Thursdays to Sundays, 10 am - 8 pm through Christmas. On a related note, it's mushroom season in…

Man Beats Robber Over The Head With Political Views, Fliers

The SPD Blotter reports: A 19-year-old man delivering political fliers near Green Lake on Monday afternoon told police he narrowly averted a stickup by hitting the would-be robber with his only weapon at hand – a bag of brochures. The victim told police he was delivering political fliers to homes near North 60th Street and Kensington Place North when three men wearing all-black clothing stopped him on the sidewalk. One of the suspects said he had a gun and ordered the victim…

Move Yo

Spotted this sign left on the windshield of an VW bus that had been left parked in one spot too long, apparently, for the taste of some neighbors. If you've just got to leave an anonymous note on someone's windshield, thank you for making it a work of art.
