Third Runway

Ted writes: I'm curious if other Wally residents are feeling the effects of increased air traffic due to the expanded use of the third runway. Apparently, the third runway is replacing the eastern runway while it is being rebuilt.  SeaTac says that the construction should last through September. They have also said, in the Port website's FAQ section, that the Port will review (and potentially adjust) flight patterns related to the third runway at the end of the year. We actually…

Gone Fishin’

Things may be a bit slow around here over the next couple of days. By the time you read this, we'll be off in the Nevada desert frolicking and making mayhem. Enjoy your weekend!

Wallingford / Green Lake Garage Sales

Hoo-boy, anyone who's been reading Wallyhood these last few days (and the comments section of the AIA and lottery posts) must think this blog is all about self-righteous puritanical screeds (or, as Troy prefers, "rants"). But it's not true, we're just homey folk who like picking through garage sales on warm summer days. Which brings us to our weekly Wallingford / Green Lake Garage Sale and Open House map, as always prepared and provided in loving collaboration with the fine folks…

Blottery

There's nothing pressingly Wallingford on our radar at the moment, so instead you're going to have to put up with our anti-lottery screed, sorry. We understand that some sort of mega lottery (MegaMillions) has reached $325 million and some of you likely saying "hey, I'm a smart puppy, I know my maths: a $325 million pay-off when the odds of winning are 175 million to one? That's a good bet!" It's not, and if you'll stick with us, we'll explain why.…
